The School Spirit Run for Niger is a family friendly 5K run/walk through the beautiful James Island County Park trails. This event is scheduled for October 7th at 9:00AM. The Remember Niger Coalition encourages participants to wear t-shirts and memorabilia from their schools of choice to emphasize unity despite dissimilarity. Proceeds from the event will go directly toward the construction of a preschool in Niger, Africa, one of the most impoverished nations in the world.
About the Remember Niger Coalition
Remember Niger Coalition is a 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to uniting people and mobilizing resources to expand quality educational opportunities in Niger, Africa. The organization is unique in that it partners with and supports Nigeriens who have a remarkable vision for their country. To date, the organization has helped its Nigerien partners construct, furnish, and support six primary schools and one secondary school in Niger. The Rally for Niger is the organization’s annual campaign in which groups all over the United States host fundraising events to raise money for a specific cause. 9:00am 5K Run or Walk
WHERE The 5K run or walk will take place at James Island County Park’s Stono Shelter, located at 871 Riverland Dr, Charleston, SC 29412
The awards presentation, along with lots of family fun activities, will be immediately following the race.
Stroller Information: Strollers are welcome! Children 3 and under do not need to be registered if being strolled by a registered participant. Wagons, scooters, and bikes are not permitted.

Our awards will be unique and authentic to Niger, Africa. We hope to share a piece of Nigerien culture with all our race winners!
Awards will be presented to the Overall (M/F) and in Age Categories (M/F): 1-9, 10-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60+. Awards will also be presented to the Top 3 Fundraisers, as well as a Spirit Award to the school with the most participation! The school with the most participants will also have their name added to a plaque at the new preschool.
